Our own Jerry Weigel, manager of nutrition and technical service, was recently interviewed by Feed Management. In the article, Jerry talks about the future of GMOs and ethanol. Note – In the article’s third question about specialized strains, the correct version of Jerry’s answer should be: It takes approximately 15 years from obtaining germplasm to commercialization. It is also estimated that it costs over $20 million for the development of a genetically modified strain, again from gene discovery to marketing.
