NutriDense Silage. More Silage. More Milk. More Profits.

NutriDense® silage hybrids deliver more milk per acre for dairy producers. BASF Plant Science has developed specific NutriDense traits for silage with highly digestible fiber and reduced lignin content. This results in high-quality, high-tonnage silage.
  • NutriDense improves ensiling—softer kernels mean better fermentation and less need for kernel processing.
  • Improved fiber digestion improves NEL, reducing the amount of corn needed in the ration.
  • NutriDense can deliver yields greater than 27 tons per acre at 65 percent moisture.

A study at the University of Kentucky showed a 2.9 lb. increase in 3.5% FCM head/day for cows fed NutriDense corn silage diets when compared to cows fed conventional corn silage diets with similar dry matter intake. This represents a 4 percent increase in milk production efficiency.

In University of Wisconsin silage trials NutriDense silage hybrids yielded over 1,400 more lbs. of dry matter per acre. Based on the university's MILK 2000 equation for predicting milk per acre, NutriDense silage hybrids outyielded elite conventional silage hybrids by more than 3,000 lbs. of milk per acre.
