Professional career

Dr. Dan Moore received his B.S. degree in Animal Science and M.S. degree in Poultry Nutrition from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He completed his Ph.D. in Nutrition with a minor in Biotechnology from North Carolina State University in 2005. Dr. Moore is currently the manager of animal nutrition, research and development, in North America for BASF Plant Science L.P., the U.S. plant biotechnology division of BASF. BASF Plant Science focuses on optimizing crops through plant biotechnology for more efficient agriculture, for use as renewable raw materials and for improved health and nutrition.

Dr. Moore has an extensive background in animal research. Prior to joining BASF Plant Science in 2010, he was a poultry research and technical support manager at Diamond V, where he was involved in their global poultry research program. Additionally, Dr. Moore has worked on the USDA’s National Animal Germplasm Program as an animal research physiologist and in many university research programs while completing his education.

In his current role at BASF Plant Science, Dr. Moore focuses on nutritional research and development as well as interacting with key accounts to ensure continued improvement.

Professional career

Scott C. Friedlund received a B.S. in Agriculture with a concentration in Economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1985. He is the current NutriDense® Grain Product Manager for BASF Plant Science L.P. BASF Plant Science focuses on optimizing crops through plant biotechnology and for more efficient agriculture, for use as renewable raw materials and for improved health and nutrition.

Mr. Friedlund grew up on a grain and cattle farm in DeKalb, Ill. He began his professional career in 1985 at Frito-Lay, Inc. where he worked in Potato and Corn Procurement Management. After 12 years with Frito-Lay, Inc., he accepted a position with Farmland Industries in 1997 where he served as the Commodity Origination Manager, Wheat Commodity Manager and Specialty Grains Manager. He moved to West Central Co-op in 2001 to become the Producer Marketing Director. Friedlund left West Central Co-op in 2003 to open a restaurant and joined BASF Plant Science three years later in 2006 as the NutriDense Grain Merchandising Manager. He was soon promoted to his current position, NutriDense Grain Product Manager.

Mr. Friedlund is an alumnus of Alpha Gamma Rho Professional and Social Fraternity.

Heather Goode

NutriDense® Communications Manager

Professional career

Mrs. Heather Goode received a B.A. degree in Communications as well as a B.A. degree in Theatre Performing Arts from the University of Buffalo. She is currently the NutriDense communications manager for BASF Plant Science L.P., the U.S. plant biotechnology division of BASF. BASF Plant Science focuses on optimizing crops through plant biotechnology for more efficient agriculture, for use as renewable raw materials and for improved health and nutrition.

Mrs. Goode has more than eight years of experience in agricultural communications. She began her career working on the Syngenta Crop Protection horticulture business at Gibbs & Soell, Inc. in Raleigh, N.C. Prior to taking her current position at BASF Plant Science in March 2010, she was a client service advisor at Quarry Integrated Communications Inc. in Durham, N.C., where she was involved in the swine business for Novartis Animal Health.

In her role at BASF Plant Science, she supports the NutriDense sales and marketing team through the development of marketing communication plans and tools that align with NutriDense business strategies and objectives.
